Quarantine Fatigue

We have caught a glimpse of sunlight,
In these dark times.
Maybe it will be over soon,
For the economy has been sidelined.

We can not stay shut down,
The country's future is on the line!
We must reopen businesses,
We can't keep wasting our time.

There's no way to keep us in,
We will go outside.
This whole thing is aggravating,
Why is it taking so long to reopen, why?

All That Jazz

William the Conqueror

The eight ounces of butter,
The two different types of cheese.
The shrimp and sauteed mushrooms,
The grilled turkey and ham.

The messiest po boy,
But the tastiest too,
No other sandwich
Can match it.

The secret wow sauce
Leaves a mysterious taste.
It's like a whole new world,
All inside your mouth.

It's insane that something
Can taste that good.
It reels you in,
Just to blow you away.

A Lot

William the Conqueror

A lot of pain
And a lot of suffering
Is what rules my day
When I have allergies.

A lot of exercise
Will keep it down.
But off days
Are a brutal chore.

The running nose
That must be blown.
A lot of tissues
My parents have bought.

When will it get better?
When will the suffering stop?
A lot of wondering,
I have done.

Homemade Bread

William the Conqueror

The buttery taste
Of homemade goodness,
Opens swirls of flavor
Inside of my mouth.

The warm, soft bread
Giving my taste bud a vacation.
My brain explodes,
Blown away by taste.

Love

William the Conqueror
It's hearing their name in the wind,
Thinking about them when you're alone.
It's a heart filled with joy,
It's singing them a song.

It's lifting them up when they are weak,
Pulling them off the ground.
It's crying in the hardest of times,
And sharing the final notes.

It's staying by their side,
When they are overcome with fear.
It is sharing with them your feelings,
And pledging them your soul.

It's laughing along with them,
It's shedding tears of joy.
It's knowing you will not be alone,
For all the years to come.

Hatred

William the Conqueror

It's inside of everyone,
Burning at large,
When your resentment grows,
It takes charge.

It's the blood of your enemies,
But it doesn't satisfy.
You always need more,
You need more people to cry.

You want to be known,
To make a name for yourself.
But now you are addicted,
Your life has bid farewell.

Anxiety

William the Conqueror

It leaves you empty,
In a fearful sort of state.
It picks apart your life,
Putting you checkmate.

It dances across the checkered board,
Killing your allies,
It shake out your essence,
Stabbing at your eyes.
