                                    Alien World

As the youthful go back to their classes,
What chaos will fill the halls?
With the stress as thick as molasses,
And the virus scaring us all.

The masks! They fog my eye wear,
Clear sight will never be mine.
Just give me some fresh air,
And no longer will I whine.

An alien world,
That's what it's become.
Our sense of this has been swirled,
More confusion still to be welcomed.

But what's our cure?
Some medicine they've frantically pushed out?
I won't be going anywhere near,
I won't be putting that drug in my mouth.

An Ode to Music

Music is what makes me tick,                                        William the Conqueror
It's what fill the cracks and crevices.
It's one of my purposes in life,
It's a part of my soul.

When I play my clarinet,
Or strum my guitar,
I can hear it echoing throughout my ears,
And I find it hard to stop.

Who would I be without it?
What would my life behold?
These are all questions I can't answer,
But are mysteries that grow old.

Enchilada Night

Enchilada night!
I can smell the tasty fumes,
Coming from the kitchen
Downstairs.

Oh, the cheesy goodness
That awaits my mouth!
It's what my taste buds
Demand!

The soft outer layer,
That holds the beans, chicken and cheese.
The way the salsa runs
Down the sides.

The rice on the side,
So very hot at first.
But my mouth explodes with flavor
When cooled.

The Winding River

It winds its way
Through the rocky soil.
Past the high standing mountains,
That rise into the clouds.

It winds its way
Through the thick, unforgiving fog.
Past the midnight city,
That sleeps, no longer abuzz.

It winds its way
Through the sunny, open plains.
In the fields the children play,
By the water, they shriek with laughter.

It winds its way
To the oceans, big and blue.
Past the fishing boats it passes,
From the currents it spews.

On the Shoulders of Our Peers

The power of friends!
That feeling courses through me,
Filling me with joy.

I am grateful now,
I used to have no friends at all.
Could not live without.

The Sights of Nature

Wow.
That is
The word I
Speak when I see
Nature. It's the lakes,
The mountains, the ponds.
Deep canyons, the rolling plains.
It's the nature we must preserve,
It's nature we must keep. With it,
There is a cause to live, a way of life.

The Fires of Inspiration

There is fire in the belly,
That must be released.
It is your source of creation,
It needs to be unleashed!

It demands inspiration!
For with it not,
You will not get the masterpiece
That you have sought.

For it to function,
You must feed it your desire.
When it is dying,
You must soothe that breaking fire!

How would one live without it?
That is a question, for the answer is unknown.
To have a soul,
You must keep the fire that you own.
